The goal in year one is to get 25 teams (four players each) to pay $100 for a night of trivia with questions on every IHSA sport in the NIC-10. Half of that will go to the Rockford Sports Coalition.

Twenty-five percent will go to the winning team and 25 percent will go to a sports program designated by the winning team. So if we fill the field and your children are playing sports at Stephen Mack Middle School in Rockton, you could win $625 for the sports programs there. If you are a Freeport alumni, you could win a few hundred to support your Pretzels. Or a Rockford team could win money for Carlson or Gregory.

If you work or support a community center, which perpetually is in need, put together a team and try to win a few hundred that could be used on new equipment.A: The tournament will be at the UW Health Sports Factory 305 S Madison St, Rockford, IL 61104.Ī: Please park at the facility's upper-level parking area.Ī: When you enter the Sports Factory follow the signs to 'Registration'.Ī: As a volunteer you will be given an awesome custom shirt for the event which you can pick up at the registration table when you arrive. Q: I don't know the first thing about wheelchair rugby - can I still volunteer?Ī: Of course! Most of what you will be doing is simple/self explanatory. Q: Will I be able to take breaks during my shift?Ī: You bet! You will always be working as part of a team and your breaks can be coordinated within your group.Ī: There is an awesome restaurant right onsite called Owly-Oop Sports Pub If your assignment requires further explanation we will provide adequate training and you will never be stationed alone.

Q: What if I can not make a shift, will be late, or need to leave early?Ī: Please contact the volunteer coordinator Karole Sellers at 26. Texting is preferred.Ī: Transportation is provided for a to/from the airport and to/from hotel and tournament venue. Q: What hotels are available for the tournament?Ī: Hotel blocks are with The Marriott Rockford and The Hampton Inn Rockford.Īdditionally each team will have an accessible vehicle at their disposal for running errands or sight seeing. Q: Where do I stow my chair and equipment during the tournament?Ī: Each team will have a secure area where all gear can be stowed during the weekend. The area will be cordoned off and a security team will be in place.Ī: Lunch is provided to registered players each day. Players are on their own for breakfast and dinner.
